HR Generalist – 12‑Month Maternity Cover

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to provide a 12‑month maternity cover for a high‑volume production environment. The role will be based on‑site and will involve managing the full spectrum of day‑to‑day HR activities while supporting continuous improvement and a safe workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, workforce planning and attendance management.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR reporting and documentation, and support internal and external audits.
• Partner with managers to advise on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary and grievance processes, training and development.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies and HR best practices.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives, change management and organisational development activities.
• Manage workforce metrics, recruitment costs, accommodation allocation, union relationships and HR projects in collaboration with operational and leadership teams.

Required profile

• Degree or professional qualification in Human Resources or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a management or leadership capacity.
• Previous HR experience in a labour‑intensive manufacturing, retail or similar operational setting.
• Hands‑on, on‑site HR professional with strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
