HR Generalist – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Address Sligo is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive HR Generalist to join its hotel team. Working 24 hours per week on‑site, you will support managers and staff across all HR functions, helping to develop and implement projects that boost organisational capability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment and selection in partnership with department heads, ensuring compliance with legislation and fair procedures.
• Maintain and update job descriptions and the company handbook as organisational needs evolve.
• Deliver new‑starter inductions and coordinate compliance training, including fire safety, manual handling, chemical safety and HACCP.
• Develop HR planning strategies with line managers to address short‑ and long‑term staffing requirements.
• Lead training and development initiatives, conduct training needs analyses, and oversee performance review processes.
• Design and manage employee engagement activities, including the annual engagement survey.
• Handle employee relations matters, coach managers on IR/ER issues, and ensure consistent application of policies such as disciplinary, grievance, absence management and equal opportunities.
• Monitor health and safety training, maintain the safety statement, and ensure legislative compliance.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, proactive and able to work independently within a hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach managers.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organisational and planning abilities.
