HR Generalist – Residential Care Home

About the role

CareChoice is seeking a full‑time HR Generalist to become the primary HR contact for its Malahide Road residential care facility. You will work closely with the HR Manager and support all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with Irish employment law and the organisation’s values.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day HR operations for the nursing home, including employee relations, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
• Support recruitment activities: job fairs, CV screening, interview coordination, reference checks and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate HR data in line with GDPR requirements and produce regular HR metrics reports.
• Administer HR documentation such as contracts, work permits, visa applications, starters, leavers and transfers.
• Collaborate with Payroll and other support functions to ensure smooth payroll processing and project planning.
• Ensure the facility remains audit‑ready and complies with HIQA and other nursing home regulations.
• Participate in team development, deliver training and contribute to people‑related projects aligned with business strategy.

Required profile

• Experience in HR within a healthcare or residential care environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation, GDPR and nursing home regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential matters.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work independently while supporting a small HR team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for preparing presentations and communications.
