HR Generalist – Site HR Support (Charleville, Cork)

About the role

The HR Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support to Dawn Meats' Charleville production plant. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the role focuses on delivering timely HR services, ensuring compliance, and fostering a positive employee relations culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, pre‑employment checks, inductions, contracts, and onboarding.
• Oversee absence management, disciplinary and grievance processes, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Coordinate non‑EU recruitment, work permits, and related administration.
• Maintain personnel files, ensure data protection compliance, and process HR documentation throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Support managers with manpower planning, resource allocation, and reporting on absences, turnover, and leave.
• Conduct exit interviews and provide turnover analytics.
• Deliver training on recruitment, employment law, performance management, and equal opportunities.
• Assist payroll and finance with pay‑related matters and process site payroll as needed.
• Collaborate with employee forums and union representatives to promote positive relations.
• Champion the CoreHR system, driving its effective use for HR data.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Irish employment legislation and data protection rules.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is advantageous.
