HR Manager – Food Production (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the day‑to‑day HR function for a large food production operation in Thurles. This hands‑on leadership position will support a fast‑paced manufacturing workforce on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, working closely with managers to deliver practical HR solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the HR team, overseeing daily HR activities.
• Handle employee relations matters including disciplinary actions, grievances, investigations, performance and absence management.
• Partner with line managers to provide practical HR guidance and support.
• Drive end‑to‑end recruitment for operational and support roles.
• Ensure HR policies, procedures and documentation comply with Irish employment legislation.
• Maintain accurate HR records and reporting in line with GDPR requirements.
• Coordinate training, compliance and employee development initiatives.
• Contribute to employee engagement, retention and a positive workplace culture.

Required profile

• Relevant third‑level qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HR Management role.
• Strong background in employee relations.
• Experience in manufacturing, food production, FMCG or a similarly fast‑paced operational environment.
• Excellent knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Proven ability to manage HR systems and maintain accurate records.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
