Human Resources Director – Site Leadership (Portlaoise)

About the role

This senior HR position will lead the people agenda for a key Irish manufacturing site. Reporting directly to the Site General Manager, you will act as a trusted partner to senior leadership, shaping culture, driving engagement and building leadership capability as the site expands.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with site leadership to drive a high‑performance culture.
• Lead culture and engagement strategy, including surveys and action planning.
• Deliver leadership development programmes and coach managers.
• Own employee‑relations matters, managing complex issues with consistent, fair practices.
• Support and embed change‑management initiatives aligned to global programmes.
• Act as the strategic People & Culture lead onsite, overseeing day‑to‑day HR operations with one direct report.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a strategic HR/P&C leadership role within a manufacturing or operational environment.
• Strong track record in culture transformation, employee engagement and leadership development.
• Confident managing employee relations and influencing senior leaders.
• Comfortable challenging and advising senior stakeholders with credibility.
• Experienced in change management within a global organisation.
• Highly independent with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
