Humanitarian Funding Advisor

About the role

The Humanitarian Funding Advisor will join Trócaire’s Global Programmes team to lead the identification, positioning and acquisition of humanitarian funding. Working in a hybrid setting, the advisor will collaborate with country offices and HQ staff to secure resources for projects in fragile and conflict‑affected states.

Key responsibilities

• Support country offices in securing humanitarian funding through proposal development and hands‑on writing.
• Coordinate engagement with donors, especially UN agencies, START Network, and ECHO, to position Trócaire for funding opportunities.
• Improve internal grant‑management systems and lead due‑diligence initiatives linked to new funding streams.
• Build capacity of Trócaire staff and partners to access and manage humanitarian funds, including direct support to partners where needed.
• Develop and maintain engagement plans for key humanitarian donors.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in Ireland or the United Kingdom (no sponsorship offered).
• Proven experience in humanitarian funding, donor engagement and proposal writing.
• Familiarity with funding mechanisms in fragile and conflict‑affected states, especially UN, START Network and ECHO.
• Ability to work collaboratively with country teams and HQ staff in a hybrid environment.
