IT Infrastructure Engineer – Hybrid Cloud & On‑Premise

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our Limerick team. The role will support a hybrid IT environment across multiple project sites and central systems, ensuring reliability, security and performance of both on‑premise and cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain on‑site infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls and servers.
• Set up and manage site IT environments, connectivity, wireless networks and end‑user equipment.
• Deploy and manage Microsoft Azure resources (VMs, networking, storage) and maintain hybrid connectivity.
• Monitor and optimise performance of cloud and on‑premise infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues across multiple locations and work with ISPs/third‑party providers.
• Perform patching, upgrades, lifecycle management and hardware/software issue resolution.
• Implement security best practices, support backup, restore and disaster‑recovery processes.
• Track IT assets, maintain inventory and produce technical documentation.
• Collaborate with internal IT teams, project managers, site personnel and external vendors.

Required profile

• Strong experience supporting on‑premise infrastructure (servers, networking, end‑user devices).
• Proven hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure (VMs, networking, storage).
• Solid networking knowledge including routing, switching, firewalls and VPN technologies.
• Experience in hybrid environments connecting on‑premise infrastructure to Azure.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and connectivity issues.
