About the role
We are seeking an IT Onsite Support professional to join our Cork office, providing first‑ and second‑level assistance to internal users. The role involves maintaining workstation performance, handling hardware and software issues, and supporting network connectivity.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain integrity and performance of all computer workstations and associated software.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues.
- Manage ongoing maintenance and future planning of desktop infrastructure.
- Monitor desktop infrastructure performance and recommend improvements.
- Evaluate software applications and patches to resolve desktop‑related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral device problems.
- Install, configure, and support desktop hardware and software.
- Provide technical support for client connectivity issues, including basic Exchange troubleshooting and Active Directory account administration.
- Collaborate with project teams on PC deployments and network equipment installations.
- Support and troubleshoot network components such as ISP circuits, firewalls, switches, wireless equipment, and telephone systems.
- Implement and support remote access solutions (VPN) and maintain approved software packages.
- Maintain accurate documentation of the local IT environment and manage IT assets.
- Escalate incidents when necessary and communicate updates to end users.
- Participate in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery testing and assist with new employee onboarding.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of information technology trends, products, and solutions.
- Experience in a 1st‑ and 2nd‑level IT Service Desk or Desktop Support role.
- Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
- Friendly, adaptable personality with strong learning ability.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow established processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well‑organized team player with effective planning skills.
- ITIL certification is an advantage.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
