IT Security Specialist – Vulnerability Management

About the role

Teagasc’s ICT Security Operations team is looking for an ICT Security Officer to lead and enhance the organisation‑wide vulnerability management programme. You will support business continuity, protect a large ICT estate across more than 50 offices and help maintain a secure environment for staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and evolve the Vulnerability Management Programme in line with the approved business case.
• Administer and harden Microsoft 365 and Azure environments on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Participate in incident detection, escalation, threat mitigation and forensic response activities.
• Monitor threats, manage security tools, and oversee security change control and audit processes.
• Develop and deliver ICT security awareness and training for all users.
• Classify and prioritise ICT risks, advise on remediation options, and support continuity testing.
• Provide backup to the ICT Security Operations Manager and assist with security design reviews.
• Collaborate with ICT teams, maintain professional development and promote good security practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an ICT Operations role within a medium to large organisation.
• Full, valid, clean driving licence.
• Proficiency in English.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Eligibility to work in the EEA, UK, Switzerland or hold a Stamp 4/5 equivalent permission.

Required skills

• Experience with vulnerability management software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of Azure.
