Java Backend Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Java Backend Software Developer to join our team in Maynooth. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of our control‑center platforms that support automated vehicle location, intermodal transport control and electromobility solutions for transport operators worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test Java code for new features and existing functionality.
• Enhance control‑center software for AVL, ITCS and electromobility applications.
• Take ownership of specific software modules and ensure their integration into the overall system.
• Collaborate with development and project teams at our headquarters in Germany.
• Work with technologies such as Java, JPA, Spring, REST, Maven, PostgreSQL and container platforms.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in object‑oriented Java development.
• Familiarity with Java Persistence API and relational databases (PostgreSQL is a plus).
• Strong motivation to work in a Scrum team and take responsibility for deliverables.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the HQ in Karlsruhe, Germany.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
