Java Developer

About the role

Our client, a leading organisation in Killarney, Co. Kerry, is looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a growing software team. You will work on enterprise‑scale applications, contribute to architecture decisions and deliver high‑quality solutions using modern technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java applications with Spring Boot.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and web services.
• Write clean, maintainable and efficient code following best practices.
• Participate in system design, code reviews and technical discussions.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise application performance.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software.
• Mentor junior developers and promote coding standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial experience with Java, Spring Boot and SQL.
• Experience developing REST APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or similar AI‑assisted development tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.
• Knowledge of Docker, Microsoft Azure, Linux and PL/SQL is desirable.
• Experience with ERP/CRM integrations is advantageous.
