Junior 3D Artist (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Scopely is seeking a Junior 3D Artist to join the Star Trek Fleet Command team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work alongside a talented art department to raise the visual quality of characters and assets for a top‑grossing mobile 4X MMO.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Art Director and Art Lead on character art production, including likenesses, hair, rigging and animation.
• Balance visual quality with efficiency under tight deadlines and mobile hardware constraints.
• Process and integrate outsourced deliveries into the game pipeline.
• Create and maintain art builds for internal review.
• Support the overall visual style and ensure consistency across all character assets.

Required profile

• Highly collaborative, passionate and motivated 3D artist.
• Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
• Adaptable, approachable and eager to take on new challenges.
• At least 1 year of experience in the games industry, preferably mobile.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating realistic, sci‑fi style character and costume work.

Required skills

• Maya (or equivalent 3D package).
• Adobe Photoshop.
• Substance Painter.
• UV mapping and texturing for game assets.
• Materials and lighting knowledge.
• Character posing for rendering.
• Rigging, skinning and basic animation (bonus).
• ZBrush (bonus).
• Unity engine familiarity (bonus).
• 2D drawing/painting ability (bonus).
