Kitchen Porter

About the role

Nove Restaurant in Malahide is looking for a reliable Kitchen Porter to keep the kitchen running smoothly. You will support the chefs, maintain strict hygiene standards, and help ensure that service flows without interruption.

Key responsibilities

• Wash pots, pans, utensils and crockery efficiently during and after service.
• Keep kitchen surfaces, floors and equipment clean and sanitised.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping and portioning.
• Receive and store deliveries correctly, applying stock rotation and proper storage methods.
• Manage waste and recycling in line with kitchen procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness according to HACCP and food safety standards.
• Support the wider kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the Head Chef.

Required profile

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in cleanliness.
• Positive, flexible team player.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Basic food safety awareness, with HACCP training a plus or willingness to complete it.
