About the role
Dawn Meats, a European food company supplying supermarkets, foodservice and manufacturers, is looking for a Lairage Operative to join its team in Grannagh, County Waterford. The role is responsible for receiving and storing animals in line with animal welfare guidelines and legislation, and helps the Lairage Team meet production targets while keeping total traceability and legislative compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Unload livestock and count deliveries to check they match the accompanying paperwork.
- Assess stock deliveries to identify any problem animals.
- Book deliveries into the computer and print traceability information.
- Transfer animals to holding pens before slaughter.
- Maintain a clean working environment in the Lairage every day.
Required profile
- Experience of handling livestock.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and as part of a team.
Required skills
- Good level of numeracy.
- Computer literacy in MS Office packages.
