Lead Designer

About the role

The Lead Designer will drive the design process from tender submission through to project close‑out for Errigal’s construction projects. This hands‑on leadership role coordinates design, commercial, procurement and operations teams to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery of high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Set up design processes at project start, including drafting the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) and defining deliverables.
• Maintain up‑to‑date design deliverables, adjusting them as scope or client requirements evolve.
• Monitor design progress against programme and procurement schedules, flagging risks and proposing solutions.
• Respond to RFIs, ensure compliance with building regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct regular BIM model audits and lead internal design reviews before client submission.
• Facilitate coordination meetings with planning, buying, operations and commercial teams.
• Provide design support to site teams during installation and extract procurement dates from design programmes.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of construction design and BIM processes.
• Commercial awareness and ability to align design packages with cost and schedule targets.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder communication.
• Experience in coordinating design activities across tender, construction and close‑out phases.
