Lead MRI Technologist – MRI Department

About the role

The Lead MRI Technologist will join the MRI Department at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. This full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday position (8:00‑16:30) provides operational leadership, ensuring high‑quality MRI services for pediatric patients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the MRI team and oversee both the quality and volume of MRI procedures.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate staff; conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Coordinate scheduling, payroll, and work assignments for the department.
• Participate in equipment evaluation, budgeting, supply ordering, and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and mandatory training requirements.
• Serve as a direct liaison with patients and families to facilitate a positive imaging experience.

Required profile

• Proven experience in both hospital and outpatient radiology settings, including emergency imaging.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical environment.
• Strong understanding of MRI safety, protocols, and pediatric imaging needs.

Required skills

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
• CRT (Certified Radiology Technician) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – AHA.
• ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) certification.
• Registered MRI Technologist – ARRT.
