About the role

Direct Medics is recruiting an experienced Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar for a long-term locum position at University Hospital Waterford, one of Ireland's leading teaching hospitals. The contract runs until July 2027 with an immediate start available, and the successful candidate joins a busy O&G department offering clinical exposure, consultant support and a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide obstetrics and gynaecology care as a locum registrar at University Hospital Waterford.
• Participate in the on-call rota, initially covering 4, 12, 20 and 30 October 2026, 1 and 9 November 2026 and 16 November 2026, with additional rota commitments expected throughout the contract.

Required profile

• Valid IMC registration.
• Right to work in the Republic of Ireland.
• Minimum 6 months' experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at registrar level or a similar role in the UK or Ireland.
• Ability to participate in on-call duties.
