Maintenance Assistant – Full‑Time or Part‑Time

About the role
The Maintenance Assistant supports the BrookLodge & Macreddin Village team by ensuring that all hotel facilities, guest rooms and public areas are kept in excellent working order. This hands‑on position involves routine inspections, quick response to guest requests and basic repairs across a range of systems.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance of rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
- Perform basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC systems.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
- Monitor building systems such as heating, lighting and water supply.
- Assist with set‑up and breakdown for events and functions.
- Collaborate with housekeeping, front‑desk and food & beverage teams to meet guest needs.
- Keep work areas clean and safe and follow health‑and‑safety procedures.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role, preferably in hospitality.
- Physical ability to lift, bend and stand for long periods.
- Good communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Proactive, team‑oriented attitude.
- Trade qualification or technical training; valid driver’s licence is a plus.
