Maintenance Electrician

About the role

As a Maintenance Electrician you will ensure production equipment and electrical systems operate efficiently while minimizing downtime in a high‑volume food manufacturing environment. You will work in a fast‑paced production setting, supporting teams with machine start‑ups, changeovers and continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production, processing, and packaging equipment.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults across production lines.
• Diagnose and repair faults on motors, drives, sensors, control panels, relays, contactors, and electrical systems.
• Support production teams with machine start‑ups, equipment changeovers, and day‑to‑day technical problem‑solving.
• Assist with electrical installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects across the facility.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with food safety, hygiene, quality, and health & safety standards.
• Complete maintenance inspections, work orders, and documentation accurately.

Required profile

• Previous electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Electrical qualification or completed Electrical Apprenticeship (essential).
• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with production equipment, motors, drives, and control systems.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach to maintenance and problem‑solving.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced production environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
