Maintenance Electrician

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Electrician to join a globally recognised geochemical laboratory hub in Loughrea, County Galway. The position is available on both day and evening shifts and focuses on keeping plant and equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out electrical maintenance activities in line with EHS policies and ISO‑17025 requirements.
• Report unsafe equipment or practices to the Health and Safety Officer and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate daily and weekly maintenance logs and required records.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on plant and machinery.
• Prioritise and complete repairs as directed by supervisors.
• Conduct daily site inspections, report defects and carry out necessary repairs.
• Assist the maintenance department and project facilities team under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with management, project teams and external clients.

Required profile

• Time‑served electrician; formal qualification is preferred.
• Industrial electrical experience.
• Testing experience and a QC number are a plus.
• Basic mechanical repair knowledge is advantageous.
• Professional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn on the job; full training provided.
