Maintenance Engineer – Processing Plant

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our high‑performing engineering team at Newmont’s Lihir processing plant. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency and safety of critical plant assets while supporting major improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Execute maintenance engineering activities for critical plant equipment and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies to boost equipment reliability.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance planning, reliability and design teams to deliver effective maintenance solutions.
• Identify performance risks, investigate system failures and propose value‑driven improvements.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to maintenance personnel and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in maintenance engineering within a processing or mining environment.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, on‑site team.
