Maintenance Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on Maintenance Manager with a strong mechanical background to lead our workshop and yard operations. The role ensures the fleet and plant equipment are maintained, repaired and serviced to the highest safety and performance standards, supporting continuous operational availability.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise workshop workload, allocate tasks, and enforce preventative maintenance schedules.
• Monitor workmanship quality, oversee equipment servicing, diagnostics and compliance checks.
• Lead, motivate and develop the maintenance team, conduct performance reviews and support recruitment and training.
• Collaborate with operations to align workshop output with yard needs and manage after‑hours on‑call support.
• Maintain accurate service records, control budgets, manage supplier relationships and approve purchase orders.
• Partner with Health & Safety to ensure compliance with Irish legislation, conduct risk assessments and uphold safe work practices.

Required profile

• Mechanical qualification with proven experience managing a workshop or maintenance facility.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Experience maintaining fleet, plant, HGV or heavy equipment.
• Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control and supplier management.
• Excellent communication, organisational and record‑keeping skills.
• Desirable experience in transport, logistics, waste management or construction, knowledge of Irish health & safety law and use of CMMS.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
