Maintenance Operative – Bridge & Road Maintenance

About the role

The Maintenance Operative will support day‑to‑day road and bridge maintenance activities for the East‑Link Toll Bridge and surrounding infrastructure. The role involves routine upkeep, emergency response, and seasonal tasks to ensure safe and reliable operation of the bridge and adjacent road network.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment checks and cash reconciliation.
• Manage traffic, winter maintenance, and weather‑related preparations.
• Carry out bridge and pavement repairs, cleaning of internal areas, and accident damage remediation.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call emergency cover and respond to incidents.
• Support the Duty Supervisor with supervision duties and general maintenance tasks.
• Maintain landscaping, grass cutting, weed control, and litter collection around the site.

Required profile

• Second‑level education (equivalent to high school).
• Valid Class C driver’s licence and Safe Pass holder.
• Willingness to work night shifts, irregular hours and adverse weather conditions.
• Commitment to health and safety practices.
