Maintenance Operative – Road & Bridge Maintenance

About the role

SouthLink N25 is seeking a hands‑on Maintenance Operative to support the day‑to‑day upkeep of the Suir Bridge, toll plaza and surrounding road network at Gracedieu, on the outskirts of Waterford City. You will work as part of a team that ensures safe, efficient travel for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine road and bridge maintenance tasks, including pavement repairs, winter upkeep and landscaping.
• Conduct daily equipment checks, cash reconciliation and traffic management duties.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call emergency response and night‑time cover as required.
• Support the Duty Supervisor with incident response, accident damage repair and cleaning of internal areas.
• Prepare weather warnings and assist with bridge and toll‑plaza specific maintenance.

Required profile

• 2nd level education and a valid Class C driver’s licence.
• Safe Pass holder and Driver CPC certification.
• Relevant experience in motorway or road construction/maintenance.
• Commitment to health and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently, outdoors and in adverse weather conditions.
