Maintenance Technician (Fitter) – Night Shift

About the role

AbbVie is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician (Fitter) to join its night‑shift maintenance team. You will be responsible for keeping manufacturing equipment running reliably while supporting health, safety, quality and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on mechanical services, plant and equipment.
• Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support improvements in machine and equipment effectiveness and optimise preventive‑maintenance routines.
• Source and manage spare‑parts inventory for equipment and systems.
• Assist specialist vendors during preventive‑maintenance activities and participate in FATs, commissioning and qualification of new plant.
• Contribute to risk assessments, KPI tracking and reporting for the technical team.
• Provide support during regulatory and compliance audits.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives such as MEP, OEE, OPEX, RCA and productivity programs.

Required profile

• Grade‑certified mechanical qualification.
• At least 4 years of maintenance and troubleshooting experience in a highly automated production environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and automation systems.
• Experience working in a GMP or other regulated environment.
• Proven problem‑solving, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read, analyse and interpret technical data, procedures and specifications.
• Strong documentation and organisational abilities.
• Willingness to work overtime and night‑shift patterns as required.
