Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maximising equipment uptime on a flexible‑packaging production line. You will inspect production and service equipment, perform corrective and preventative maintenance, and ensure safe operation of all machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to health & safety procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections of production and service equipment.
• Carry out corrective and preventative maintenance on printing, converting, conveyor, electrical, CNC, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Collaborate with external contractors and OEM service engineers during installations and repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, source replacement parts, and perform repairs.
• Update production processes and system software with the Maintenance Manager.
• Attend daily shift meetings to prioritise work orders and minimise downtime.
• Operate cranes, hoists, power tools and hand tools safely.
• Assess condition of used parts, maintain parts and tools inventory.
• Prepare maintenance reports and summary presentations using activity logs and trend analysis.
• Continuously develop electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical knowledge through training and industry workshops.

Required profile

• Previous experience in industrial maintenance.
• Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and OEM manuals.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to PPE and housekeeping standards.
• Effective communication skills for working with contractors and internal teams.
