Maintenance Technician – Manufacturing Plant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our engineering team at a busy manufacturing facility in North Dublin. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure the reliability, efficiency and safe operation of production equipment and plant machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing equipment and site services.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults on production machinery.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and troubleshoot automated and PLC‑controlled equipment.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning projects.
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately using the CMMS.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities to boost equipment reliability.
• Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions after failures.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to meet operational targets.
• Maintain workshop tools, spare parts and housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years post‑apprenticeship maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to work shifts and participate in an on‑call rota if required.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge.
• Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Variable speed drives (VSDs), sensors and inverters.
• Industrial control systems.
