Manufacturing Engineering Manager

About the role

Ei Electronics is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function for its high‑volume, safety‑critical electronic products. Based in Shannon, Co. Clare, you will drive new product introduction, automation strategy, facilities development and technical support for production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Manufacturing Engineering involvement from early design through pilot builds to full production ramp, ensuring strong Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) inputs.
• Develop scalable manufacturing processes, conduct PFMEA, manage process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and create control plans for new SKUs.
• Define and execute a multi‑year automation roadmap, identifying opportunities for manufacturing, test and material‑handling automation.
• Provide engineering leadership for facilities expansion, layout redesign and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Offer senior technical support to resolve complex production issues and improve technology on high‑volume lines.
• Build, mentor and lead a high‑performing Manufacturing Engineering team, fostering collaboration with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading manufacturing engineering functions in an industrial setting.
• Demonstrated success delivering New Product Introduction (NPI) projects on time, within budget and to target yield.
• Strong leadership and team‑development skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Experience planning and executing automation initiatives and facilities expansions.
