About the role
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our team at the Fermoy facility. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing high‑volume production equipment in an SMT/clean‑room or packaging environment.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain production equipment to maximise quality, output and yield while following cGMP guidelines.
- Apply root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving techniques to troubleshoot line issues and optimise equipment.
- Execute preventative maintenance activities and manage spare‑part inventory.
- Document all actions clearly in line with Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
- Support commissioning of new equipment and assist with equipment assessments, site visits and training.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to communicate operational issues.
- Participate in continuous‑improvement projects to drive process efficiency.
- Cross‑train new manufacturing technicians as required.
Required profile
- NFQ Level 6 qualification in Mechanical, Automation, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent (qualified trades personnel with industrial experience considered).
- Experience in high‑volume automation, robotics or PLC environments.
- Understanding of process capability, MSA and GR&R.
- Ability to work on‑site in Fermoy and travel when needed for equipment assessments.
