Mechanical Design Engineer – Water Treatment Projects

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Team and work on a variety of water‑treatment projects across Ireland. You will be involved from concept through to final delivery, developing your skills in mechanical equipment selection, hydraulic system design and drawing production.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Design Engineer and the wider design team on end‑to‑end projects.
• Liaise with clients from initial concept, feasibility, detailed design, implementation to final delivery.
• Conduct detailed design calculations and select appropriate mechanical equipment.
• Develop P&IDs and design drawings in partnership with the drawing team.
• Provide technical guidance on equipment selection and support procurement activities.
• Manage project documentation in line with the Project Quality Plan.

Required profile

• Level 7/8/9 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in water, pumping/piping, fluid‑handling systems or oil/gas (desirable).
• Ability to work independently, manage design tasks and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
