Mechanical Designer – Power Supply Products

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Irish team, developing mechanical structures and thermal management solutions for electronic power supply products across industrial, IT, medical, e‑mobility and solar‑electric markets. The role works closely with electronics designers and R&D to deliver cost‑effective, high‑performance designs that meet safety, EMC and manufacturing requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and thermal management concepts for a range of power‑supply products.
• Create detailed part and assembly drawings, manufacturing documentation, labels and product literature.
• Collaborate with suppliers to optimise cost, producibility and quality.
• Balance mechanical, thermal, EMC, safety and manufacturing constraints to achieve cost‑effective designs.
• Produce product datasheets, installation instructions and other technical documentation.
• Generate visually rich product presentations using material and light rendering tools for marketing and product launches.
• Participate in design reviews, providing technical input and recommendations.
• Support product transition from design to production with cross‑functional teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design practices and processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred).
• 3–10 years of relevant experience, or recent graduate with strong potential.
• Strong understanding of material properties and selection principles.
• Familiarity with electrical safety principles for electronic power supplies and basic electronic circuits.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD tools: Solid Edge (preferred), SolidWorks, Creo, Onshape, Inventor.
• Knowledge of sheet‑metal fabrication, CNC machining, injection moulding and 3D/additive printing processes.
• Experience with ECAD tools such as Altium or Eagle (desirable).
