Mechanical Technician – Energy Center

About the role

The Day Mechanical Technician will be based at the Energy Centre in Clondalkin, Dublin, working a regular Monday‑Thursday 07:30‑16:00 and Friday 07:30‑15:30 schedule. The role provides hands‑on training across predictive maintenance, CMMS (Pemac) and reliability techniques for a range of utility plant equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities with shift technicians, especially during morning hand‑overs.
• Act as the primary contact for external service providers.
• Troubleshoot and conduct high‑level investigations of equipment faults, performing root‑cause analysis.
• Record and investigate deviations, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Execute planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion of PMs.
• Develop and maintain PM schedules, job plans and SOPs for plant equipment.
• Collaborate with the site planner to identify spare‑part requirements and optimise the maintenance programme.
• Support emergency situations, back‑fill shift duties and assist with capital improvement projects.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of fuel‑oil storage and distribution systems.
• Experience with industrial gas installations, turbines, diesel generators, boilers, compressors and pumps.
• Ability to make leadership decisions regarding plant operation, offline procedures and restoration.
• Proven capability to mentor team members and develop their technical competence.
• Willingness to work on‑site and respond to out‑of‑hours emergencies when required.
