Mid-level Python Backend Developer

About the role

Zinkworks is seeking a mid‑level Python Backend Developer to join its engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that support telecom and financial‑services clients, working closely with frontend engineers, DevOps, and product owners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python‑based backend services and APIs.
• Build scalable, secure, high‑performance RESTful or event‑driven services.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and solution architects.
• Write clean, testable, and well‑documented code.
• Participate in system design discussions and technical decision‑making.
• Conduct code reviews and promote best engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing systems.
• Support deployments and production environments as needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience building backend services with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture patterns.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
