Multi-skilled Trades Technician – Plumbing

About the role

The Estates Department at NHS Highland is seeking a full‑time Multi‑skilled Trades Technician with a plumbing focus to work at Raigmore Hospital. The role involves delivering plumbing maintenance and limited mechanical and electrical repairs to support the delivery of high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency plumbing maintenance across hospital facilities.
• Carry out restricted mechanical and electrical repairs on building services, plant and equipment.
• Provide shift cover and participate in a 1:4 on‑call rota as required.
• Support heating, boiler, pump and ventilation systems where needed.

Required profile

• Essential plumbing background with a recognised Plumbing and Heating qualification.
• Current UK driving licence.
• Ability to work flexibly, including shift cover and on‑call duties.
• Team‑player who is self‑motivated and comfortable with occasional remote work.

• Plumbing installation and maintenance.

• Pump and ventilation system maintenance.
• Basic mechanical repairs.
• Basic electrical repairs.
