Network Administrator

About the role

The Network Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of our ICT network infrastructure. You will ensure high availability, security and performance of all network services while supporting business units with their connectivity needs.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot Cisco, Dell and Aruba networking equipment.
• Document IP addressing, routing tables and keep network diagrams up to date.
• Coordinate new firewall installations, ensure redundancy and manage Palo Alto firewall implementations.
• Identify and repair fibre and physical link failures promptly.
• Apply firmware updates and corrective patches to keep hardware and software at acceptable levels.
• Plan, monitor and perform routing maintenance, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 redundancy.
• Provide daily backups of critical communication data and ensure 24/7 network uptime.
• Liaise with service providers to guarantee efficient service delivery.
• Support change‑control processes and maintain accurate authorisation records for network changes.

Required profile

• Higher Certificate (NQF 5) in an Information Technology field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a network administration or related role.
• Medically fit for the specific business area and clear security‑screening record.
• Valid driver’s licence.
