Night Porter – Hotel Front Office

About the role

The Great National South Court Hotel is looking for a reliable Night Porter to join the Front Office team on the night shift (11:30 pm – 7:30 am). You will deliver a high standard of customer service while ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff and the property.

Key responsibilities

• Receive hand‑over from the manager on duty and the Front Office team.
• Greet guests, provide door service and ensure a high‑quality experience.
• Handle guest requests, inquiries and complaints promptly and courteously.
• Check guests in and out as required and assist with luggage/porterage.
• Clean public areas, food & beverage outlets and other designated spaces according to the nightly checklist.
• Prepare and set up function/meeting rooms, replenishing and servicing them to the required standard.
• Serve residents in the lobby bar and collect breakfast room service cards each night.
• Answer telephone calls professionally and efficiently.
• Lock and reopen the premises, switch lighting on and off at the appropriate times.
• Complete the night‑porter checklist and pass relevant information to Reception/Early Duty Manager.
• Maintain vigilance, follow emergency procedures and carry out regular security checks of the entire hotel.

Required profile

• Previous hospitality experience is essential.
• Experience as a Hotel Night Porter or in Front Office roles is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Warm, friendly and approachable personality.
• Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
• Reasonable knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Word and email.
• Fluent English.
• Full permission or a valid visa to work in the EU.
