NPD Technologist

About the role

ABP is seeking an NPD Technologist to join its Cahir site. You will be responsible for developing and launching new or upgraded food products, ensuring they meet quality, safety and commercial requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate samples, pre‑production trials and first production runs.
• Influence product set‑up and production decisions to meet food‑safety and quality standards.
• Implement and maintain detailed specifications for finished products.
• Research innovative concepts, develop ingredients and packaging, and validate costing.
• Liaise with customers and cross‑functional teams to capture commercial opportunities and resolve development issues.
• Organise, lead and conduct taste panels and benchmarking activities.
• Manage customer queries and supplier complaints, performing root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure all NPD procedures and documentation comply with customer and best‑practice requirements.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutritional Science, Food Innovation or Culinary Arts.
• Experience in a similar role within the meat or broader food sector.
• Strong commercial awareness and passion for food.
