About the role
We are seeking a qualified Registrar to join the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department at Sligo University Hospital for a July rotation. The role involves delivering high‑quality acute obstetric and gynaecological care within a busy teaching hospital environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological clinical services, including labour and delivery, antenatal clinics and surgical procedures.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors and medical students during the rotation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, handovers and on‑call duties.
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to departmental audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Active registration with the Irish Medical Council.
- Completed training in obstetrics and gynaecology with relevant experience.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Commitment to the full July rotation period.
Required skills
- Proficiency in obstetric and gynaecological clinical procedures.
- Ability to manage acute emergencies in a hospital setting.
