Obs/Gynae Registrar – July rotation

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Registrar to join the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department at Sligo University Hospital for a July rotation. The role involves delivering high‑quality acute obstetric and gynaecological care within a busy teaching hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological clinical services, including labour and delivery, antenatal clinics and surgical procedures.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors and medical students during the rotation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, handovers and on‑call duties.
• Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to departmental audit and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Active registration with the Irish Medical Council.
• Completed training in obstetrics and gynaecology with relevant experience.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Commitment to the full July rotation period.

Required skills

• Proficiency in obstetric and gynaecological clinical procedures.
• Ability to manage acute emergencies in a hospital setting.
