Onboarding Specialist – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Onboarding Specialist to deliver a seamless end‑to‑end onboarding experience for new hires and their line managers across Kilkenny and the South East Midlands. This 6‑month contract role blends operational excellence with strategic programme delivery, ensuring new employees are fully integrated and ready to contribute.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all pre‑boarding and onboarding activities from offer acceptance through probation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires and line managers, providing guidance and support.
• Arrange IT provisioning, PPE, access cards, vehicles, payroll documentation and other Day One readiness tasks.
• Collaborate with Recruitment, HR, L&D, Hiring Managers and operational stakeholders to ensure a smooth onboarding journey.
• Support continuous improvement of onboarding content, learning resources and best practices.
• Lead strategic onboarding projects and drive improvement initiatives.
• Assist in designing, implementing and embedding new onboarding programmes across the organisation.

Required profile

• Experience in onboarding, employee experience, HR, talent acquisition or learning and development.
• Strong project coordination, organisational and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication, influencing and problem‑solving skills.
• Flexibility to travel when required.
