Packaging Operator

About the role

The Packaging Operator ensures safe and efficient operation of packaging equipment at our Drogheda manufacturing site. Working on a shift‑based schedule, you will help maintain uninterrupted production, meet quality standards and support overall operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Operate case packers, baggers and conveyors following prescribed work methods and safety procedures.
• Verify production plans, raw‑material availability and line readiness at the start of each shift.
• Set up equipment, perform changeovers according to SMED guidelines and conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance.
• Clean, lubricate and inspect machinery in line with Autonomous Maintenance SOPs.
• Monitor line performance, log downtime in TrakSYS and record production and material data accurately.
• Maintain housekeeping and 6S standards, dispose of waste according to EMS procedures and support continuous‑improvement activities.
• Communicate handovers, escalations and improvement ideas via PIT boards and PEMAC requests.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience operating machinery in a high‑volume manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Proven ability to work on production or packaging lines, supporting continuous operation and meeting targets.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.

Required skills

• Case packer, bagger and conveyor operation.
• Equipment set‑up and SMED changeover execution.
• Basic mechanical maintenance, cleaning and lubrication.
• Use of TrakSYS for downtime logging and OEE monitoring.
• Application of 6S and Autonomous Maintenance SOPs.
