Paediatric Nurse – Day Case Unit (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Paediatric Day Case Unit at Raigmore Hospital is seeking a motivated Paediatric Nurse to join a multidisciplinary team delivering family‑centred care for children aged 0‑16. This fixed‑term position runs until April 2027 and supports a range of day‑case surgeries and outpatient clinics.

Key responsibilities

• Perform clinical assessments and prepare children for day‑case procedures.
• Provide recovery care and monitor post‑procedure progress.
• Deliver information, reassurance and support to children and their families.
• Participate in outpatient services including phlebotomy, pre‑assessment and allergy skin‑prick testing.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and allied health professionals within the unit.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Children’s Nursing.
• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the Children’s Nursing field.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, compassionate care.
• Flexibility for part‑time hours if required.
