Painter & Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Painter & Maintenance Technician to keep The Hoxton Dublin’s rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces in pristine condition. You will combine high‑quality painting with general maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, priming, sanding and finishing.
• Carry out touch‑up painting in bedrooms, corridors and public areas to maintain presentation standards.
• Repair and restore walls, ceilings, woodwork and other surfaces as required.
• Undertake basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks within your competence.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and team members.
• Inspect rooms and key areas regularly to ensure they are guest‑ready.
• Assemble and repair furniture and fixtures.
• Support refurbishment projects, planned maintenance, events and seasonal décor.
• Follow safety protocols, use PPE and comply with fire, health, safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a painter/decorator or all‑round maintenance operative.
• Strong practical skills with an eye for detail and good problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and communicate clearly with the team.
• Physical fitness for manual tasks, lifting and working at heights (reasonable adjustments available).
• Hotel or commercial building experience and relevant trade qualifications are a plus.
