Pharmacy Attendant (Aide)

About the role
The Pharmacy Attendant/Aide delivers medication and feed to all units within the hospital, playing a vital part of the pharmacy team. The role covers receipt, movement, storage and distribution of medicines while supporting stock and inventory management.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver medication and nutritional feeds to clinical units promptly and accurately.
- Receive, store, move and distribute pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate stock records and monitor inventory levels.
- Assist with stock control activities, including regular counts and reconciliations.
- Perform manual handling tasks, lifting and transporting loads as required.
Required profile
- Leaving Certificate qualification (essential); relevant third‑level qualification (desirable).
- Demonstrated ability or experience in stock control and inventory management.
- Willingness and physical capability to perform manual handling duties.
- Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
- Ability to learn independently and take initiative in daily tasks.
Required skills
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
