Planning Manager

About the role

The Planning Manager will lead a team of 4‑6 planners across a portfolio of large construction, civil and facilities‑management projects. Based in Kill, Kildare, you will ensure robust project programmes, monitor performance and support delivery teams to meet client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of planners, allocating resources across multiple projects.
• Oversee creation, review and approval of detailed project programmes, ensuring compliance with contracts and company standards.
• Provide strategic input on tender programmes, sequencing and methodology.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and delays, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain programme controls, including earned‑value analysis, KPI reporting and progress tracking.
• Produce consolidated performance reports for senior leadership.
• Lead planning discussions in progress meetings, workshops and reviews.
• Coordinate delay analysis and EOT claim assessments with the commercial team.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing planning teams on large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of programme control, risk identification and mitigation.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with project directors, construction managers, commercial teams and clients.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and uphold high‑performance standards.
