Play Worker – Early Childhood Education

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Play Worker to join our early childhood team at Glenamuck Manor in Dublin. In this full‑time, on‑site position you will support children aged 12 months to 12 years through structured and free‑play activities, helping them develop socially, emotionally and cognitively.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age‑appropriate play and learning experiences.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and well‑being at all times.
• Facilitate positive social interactions and inclusive play.
• Support daily routines such as meals, rest periods and transitions.
• Observe, document and report on children’s progress.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and implementation.
• Follow all safeguarding, health and safety policies and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• QQI Level 7 or 8 qualification in Early Childhood Education, childcare or equivalent.
• Experience working with children from 12 months to 12 years in a childcare, school or after‑school setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to build relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Knowledge of play‑based learning and child development.
• Organisational skills for planning activities and maintaining records.
• Flexibility, reliability and a collaborative team approach.
• First Aid and child protection training are advantageous.

Required skills

• First Aid certification (preferred).
• Child protection training (preferred).
