Postdoctoral Researcher – International Law

About the role
The School of Law and Government at Dublin City University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the ERC Consolidator Grant CAREINTLAW project. Working under the supervision of Professor Catherine O’Rourke, the successful candidate will contribute to a five‑year research programme that places care at the centre of international law.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct doctrinal research in international law, including environmental and trade law.
- Develop and apply the project’s legal research methodology, instruments and protocols.
- Code and analyse legal sources using Nvivo software.
- Draft research reports, academic papers and contribute to funding proposals.
- Organise conferences, maintain the project website, and prepare project documentation and reports.
Required profile
- PhD in Law or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in international law research.
- Experience with qualitative data analysis tools, preferably Nvivo.
- Strong academic writing and publication record.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Nvivo for qualitative coding and analysis.
