Principal Information Security Engineer – Blockchain Technology

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Principal Information Security Engineer to lead the security strategy for its Crypto Products and Solutions Blockchain Networks. The role combines deep technical expertise with strategic influence to protect high‑availability, payment‑grade blockchain platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce security architecture, standards, and patterns for large‑scale blockchain platforms.
• Lead threat modelling, risk assessments, and security design reviews for high‑velocity, high‑availability systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and global business teams to embed security‑by‑design throughout the development lifecycle.
• Drive the long‑term security roadmap, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry requirements.
• Mentor and guide security teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and resilience.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and securing blockchain or distributed ledger solutions.
• Strong background in information security, preferably within the payments or fintech sector.
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast‑moving, high‑availability environments.
• Excellent communication skills to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
