Process Engineer

About the role
The Process Engineer will support manufacturing operations at Co. Kerry by providing technical expertise, driving process improvements, and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to optimise performance, resolve technical issues, and meet operational and project objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide engineering and technical assistance to operations to maintain efficient manufacturing and meet production milestones.
- Oversee Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other automation/control platforms, ensuring compliance and reliable performance.
- Administer GMP‑compliant computerized systems to protect data integrity, accuracy, and traceability.
- Lead troubleshooting of equipment and process issues, delivering immediate corrective actions and sustainable long‑term solutions.
- Drive timely execution of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) arising from deviations and incidents.
- Support operational‑excellence initiatives such as process optimisation, cost reduction, waste minimisation, recycling, and energy‑efficiency projects.
- Coordinate continuous‑improvement activities using Lean Six Sigma, facilitating meetings, monitoring progress, and reporting results.
- Participate in or lead technology‑transfer activities for new manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Complete required Learning Management System (LMS) training within deadlines.
- Maintain compliance with cGMP, ISO 14001, EMAS, environmental regulations, health and safety legislation, and company policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience delivering engineering projects in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong knowledge of purification and filtration processes, process instrumentation, automation and control systems, equipment qualification, and process validation.
- Ability to work independently on design, commissioning, implementation, and maintenance of cGMP‑regulated systems.
