Procurement Category Manager

About the role

We are looking for an operational, highly analytical Procurement Category Manager to own end‑to‑end spend portfolios. The role blends strategic sourcing, commercial execution and ERP transition support within an industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of assigned categories, from RFx creation to contract award and SLA enforcement.
• Execute structured sourcing strategies, lock in price stability, and lead hedging policies.
• Partner with site managers and operational leads to align immediate needs with long‑term commercial strategy.
• Champion the migration of current P2P workflows into a new ERP system while maintaining day‑to‑day operations.
• Identify bottlenecks, propose process improvements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilise data‑driven models to track spend, control maverick buying and mitigate supply‑chain risks.
• Oversee supplier performance, conduct data‑backed reviews and act as the primary escalation point for supply issues.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Buyer, Category Manager or Commercial Manager in industrial, manufacturing or construction settings.
• Proven track record of executing complex commercial tenders, managing contract variations and securing long‑term supply agreements.
• Self‑starter who works independently yet collaborates effectively within a team.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable commercial decisions.
